Final product analysis

A 20% gingerol oleoresin

Ginger oleoresin is bought and sold on one number: total gingerols. This lot assays at 20.40 g/100g, meeting the 20% gingerol grade the trade specifies — and it gets there without a chemical solvent anywhere in the process.

The bulk of it is 6-gingerol at 18.32 g/100g, the compound that carries ginger's pungency and the one most formulations are built around.

Shogaol fraction

A further 8.26 g/100g of shogaols sits alongside the gingerols, adding the sharper, warmer edge of the ginger profile.

Concentration from the rhizome

The dried rhizome this lot came from assayed at 2.02% gingerols. The finished oleoresin assays at 20.40 — a tenfold concentration of the active fraction into a pourable, dosable extract.

Sensory and appearance

A yellow, thick liquid with the full pungent-aromatic profile of the fresh rhizome. Because the aromatics are never distilled off, the top notes stay with the resin instead of being lost to the still.

Raw material analysis & assurance

Screened before it was ever extracted

Before a single kilogram entered the extractor, the harvested lot was sent to an independent third-party food testing laboratory in Bengaluru and screened against the full FSSAI and EU contaminant panel. Every result came back clean.

Pesticide residues

517 parameters. Every one below the limit of quantification.

Screened to EC No. 396/2005. Not a single residue was quantifiable — the result EU buyers need before a shipment moves.

Basis of testing. The contaminant, microbiological and raw material results on this page were obtained on raw material lot GIN-RM-001 prior to extraction, under reports VRB/FD/2605/26-0051 and VRB/FD/2605/26-0053. The gingerol and shogaol profile in the previous section was obtained on the finished extract. Full reports for both are supplied with every shipment and available on request before you order.
Origin

One farm. One harvest. One lot.

This oleoresin begins as Rio De ginger grown at a single farm in Jabagere, Karnataka, lifted from one harvest and kept as a single identified lot from the field to the sealed drum.

Nothing was blended in. There is no pooled market material behind this batch and no second origin to disclose, which means the chain below is the whole story: four steps, each dated, each documented.

Process

Carbon dioxide in, pungency out, nothing left behind.

Extraction is carried out with supercritical carbon dioxide at a dedicated scCO₂ facility in Jigani, Bengaluru. Carbon dioxide is brought above its critical point, where it behaves as a solvent, draws the aromatic and resinous fraction out of the milled rhizome, and is then simply returned to gas and recovered.

The consequence for a formulator is a short list: no hexane, no ethanol, no acetone and no chemical solvent residue to declare or test for. Working temperatures stay low, so the volatile top notes that steam distillation drives off are retained. Each run is separated into two fractions — a lighter essential oil and a heavier oleoresin — and every fraction is weighed, coded and logged against the trial it came from.

Application

Where this oleoresin earns its place

Beverage and functional drinks

A standardised 20% gingerol extract dose-controls far more precisely than ground ginger, and disperses cleanly into flavour systems.

Nutraceutical formulation

Known gingerol and shogaol figures plus a clean contaminant history make this straightforward to qualify for capsule and softgel formats.

Savoury, bakery and confectionery

Full pungent-aromatic profile at low inclusion rates, with none of the batch-to-batch drift of a ground spice.

Clean-label reformulation

CO₂-extracted with no chemical solvent in the process and none to declare on the finished product.
